Jayson Sanchez was in a verbal dispute with another man at 8600 Columbia Ave when officers arrived on scene on Saturday, May 6, police said. Sanchez was heavily intoxicated and agitated and began to fight police, officers said.
Sanchez resisted being placed under arrest and spit on officers and also tried to bite an officer, police said. Sanchez was eventually placed in handcuffs and transported to a nearby hospital, since he was so intoxicated, police said.
Sanchez was later taken to police headquarters where he was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, police said. He was transported to Hudson County Jail.
